They say there is only one true love (soulmate):

Does that mean that whatever we do, wherever we go, we would eventually end up with that person we really love? In other words, its just fate?

Have you ever seen the movie 'Serendipity'? :)

Whoever you end up with it's fated. Now to maintain that happy, loving relationship is another question. I think both people have to equally give and take in order to have a successful relationship. Dr Phil once said (can't believe I'm quoting him) "Even if you marry your prince charming... the love of your life.. the one who swam a hundred seas, walked on fire for you.. the chance of that relationship working out is still 50/50 because both people have to work hard to have a successful relationship."

I thought that until my 'soul mate' turned out to be a bastard who never does anything around the house and puts me and our kids in second place to work, the computer and his friends in the pub. If that's what I'm supposed to spend the rest of my life with, then being a single mum is looking mighty tempting right now.

Hmmm...interesting thought. I've always thought I let my one true love get away. It was back in my young and rowdy days, when I thought I knew everything. Can you miss your "opportunity" at being with your soul mate? If you can, then I think I did it. Who knows, everything happens for a reason. I'm still searching for my soul mate, I suppose.
