It's a big mistake. The EU is now expanding just for the sake of it. The powers that be think that the bigger we get, the more influence we will have over the world.
That will never be the case. In fact, it is going to be a distinct disadvantage. The only European countries to have any influence on the world and world events, are first and foremost, the Uk, followed by Germany and way behind them, the French.
The fact we are all in the EU, and have to answer to un-elected officials is a big disadvantage to us individually, and with more countries joining us, and of the "quality" of Romania, we risk losing even more credibility.

Wow, so much ignorance fans...lets have a look at Romania herself, shall we?
Romania was originalyl a Roman Province, and its always been one of the Romance nations, not Slavic. Its culture is similar to Italy, France and Spains, and as such, if any of you twits cared to look at some independent sources, the vast majority of their immigrants will go to the other Romance nations.
Did no one watch the Channel 4 program about this? How the vast majority of Romanians find us arrogant as a nation for assuming EVERYONE wants to come here? They want France, Italy and the like, they want Family solidrity, not the market driven hell that we're turning into.
Please people, stop reading the Sun and Mail for once, and actually check some independent sources.

So the rest of hte EU countries won't care. Most of the immigrants come to Britain, and the french are not really bothering with stopping them from going across the chanel tunel illegally, as long as they don't settle in france, they don't care. I think that we should pull out of the EU, the euro is makeing things ridiculously expensive over there, and all these immigrants are ruining both our country and their own. If everyone left Romania, no one would even bother trying to deal with the corruption and poverty. They have to sort it out before they join, I say, and send any illegal immigrants back home (legal ones i don't mind, as long as they don't take benefits for the rest of their life. Brittish people who falsely do that annoy me enough,.

There are still thousands of jobs that British people wont do. They complain about Unemployment, but yet there are jobs they refuse to do.
At least Eastern Europeans fill these jobs up, and they also solve another problem we have in the UK, mingers. Eastern European women are 100 times more hotter than British girls, and they also have a good sense of humour and they have stable minds. So at least were getting pretty girls for a change.

It will have a number of positive benefits, as membership of the EU will force it to sort out corruption as well as helping stability - look at Spain - it was struggling economically when it applied to join the EU, but now it is a member it has a much stronger economy.

If we didn't offer the minimum wage and free nhs to everyone, this would stop a lot of other EU and Non-EU residents from coming over. Oh and we are so lax on our immergration it's like a free for all except the UK residents. It would be fair to say that most of these workers send their money home and thus it is not helping the Uk economy when the money is leaving our shores.

I just think that as an island we have to realise there is a limit to how many people we can support .(Houses, services, roads, hospitals etc.) Given that we had set a tariff, I feel that immigrants might be selected from nations that are similar to ours, in terms of economy, employment, morals and systems of justice. Thus most of the incidents involving immigrants may, perhaps, be reduced or avoided. I realise this is a Utopian point of view, just an opinion, so all of you who might want to holler "racist" at me, don't bother, my thoughts are just abstract thinking.:-)
