I was going to point out that this is not the first time they have opened fire and killed UN troops or US observers. But didn't want to be to accusatory. I am glad somebody else brought that point out.

personally I don't believe it was a faulty map both for Airforce Fighter Command and the Army Artillery for one second. That is just Way to many screwed up maps.

Of course they knew. They also knew it was a US ship when they bombed the USS Liberty.

Hard to say. Many crazy things happen in time of war. I don't believe that the Israelis purposely went after the UN observation post. However, you are undoubtedly aware that the Hezbollah assholes always place their headquarters and weapon storages near such places or near homes of ordinary citizens.

I think they knew. They, like their US patrons believe that they are above the law. They still adhere to the Divine Right principle.
