I like to throw the question softly back at the one asking it and get him or her to think about what they are really asking it for, if God does not exist, and I save the hardball pitches for Christians who are too eager to get in there and pummel non-believers with the truth. Jesus said people will know we are His disciples by our LOVE, not by how loudly we yell the truth. There's no reason that Christians should not mingle with non-believers, but I hope we'll let Christ do the talking and just have us get out of His way--if we make ourselves available for Him to use in the first place.

You need a little more information about how many different Christian religions there are. Take some time and look it up on the Internet. There are more different types of Christian religion's than there are different kinds of trees throughout the world. What causes all the questions about Christianity by the atheists? Are all of you on a guilt trip? Don't atheists have a ritual to save their soul. Do they ever go soul seeking in their private thoughts? Is it an eye for an eye or do they turn the other cheek? What is it? ????????about atheists? We want to know. Won't you please tell us what you really believe and don't hide it? We forgive you for you know not what you do. Have I interpeted your question wrong? If so my answer is for the atheists. If your a Christian then this is still an answer for the atheists.

1. Love thy neighbour and practice universal brotherhood.
2. Since God has created different beings, be tolerant towards the views expressed by others.
3. Believe each man's action decides his destiny.
4. Hence desist from forced conversions.

But, you never know what someone else reading the answers might do. It just might get someone to thinking. Whatever opportunity arises, should we bypass the opportunity, just because the asker is obnoxious.
By the way, there are many questions that I do pass up for the reason you mention.

I would say that not all here should be considered pigs, lol. Some of us Christians can learn alot by the questions and answers. Of course there are alot of "questions" that are not legit, but any discerning christian could ignore them.

it's because atheists can back up ideas and beleifs with science and reality, christians seem to back up ideas and beleifs with a 2000 year old book.. in 2000 years times will people use harry potter to back up a religeon as it contains storys of magic and myth?, it is unreasonable for a christian to answer a question from a book full of magic and myth (lets face it noah didnt take all 3.5million species of animals on a big boat) or to explain something that cannot be seen or touched or smelt, aethiests can back up there theorys with science and logical thinking.

It is generally best to assume everyone is sincere and answer accordingly, but occasionally it is very hard to resist the urge to give a wisecrack answer.

Get the word out about god anyway you can. God knows what you're doing and gives you these particular situations for a reason.
