I'm looking for others with the last name "Schakelman" or "Schackelmann." It is my mother's maiden name and we are stuck on her 2nd great-grandfather. Is there anyone out there with this last name? Please HELP!!!

has 25 hits with exact spelling, 21,000 with soundex. You could cut down the soundex with a first name and some birth year estimates.
If he was in the USA, based on my expereince with my Swiss and German immigrant lines, I'd bet large sums at long odds that his name got mangled more often than it got recorded accurately.
I have 8 marriage apps from one big family, where the mom was Anna Wyssmann. They spelled it 6 ways.
