Usually Virgin or British Airways, none of the smaller ones though, decent food comes from the bigger airlines.

"Best in-flight food"??! Talk about a contradiction in terms...

On the whole the Gulf and SE Asian carriers (eg. Emirates, Singapore, etc.) are the least bad, and can even be good on occasion. Air France used to be pretty good, but the Europeans have let their standards drop so much in the last 10 years or so that none of them are anywhere near the top now. The American carriers are equally bad.

I think Emirates does the best but I was also really impressed with Bangkok air because they are a super small airline but they give you this delicious meal on the 1 hour flights. Now don't laugh but I really have enjoyed my meals on Air Aryana (Afghanistans national carrier), that is when they remember to heat it. They serve some type or nice goat or something that tastes good with either lentels or okra and then some rice with cinnimon and sometimes raisons and then some fruit and Nan (Afghan bread). It is pretty tasty and filling.
