It was about 1989/90 as Master Foods UK wanted to align the brand name with the rest of Europe who already called the bar "Snickers". All in the name of the UK in the EU.

Not quite sure. But in the states they have just launched a new snickers bar called, you guessed it "marathon"

I can't remember, but I remember when it happened if you know what I mean. Dunno why they changed it, Snickers is a stupid name
