According to scripture, the meek will inherit the Earth. Okay, fine. The meek are now in the Holy Real Estate Market. However, something that is not addressed in the Bible is whether or not they inherit the Earth before or after Jehovah destroys it as per Revelations.

If it's before, what would be the point since God is just going to destroy it later? Just because they are meek doesn't mean they are stupid!

and...

If it's after, why would the meek even want it?

I'm thinking that once they get their Armagedon, (and they all go to where ever) then we get the Earth and 2000 years of peace with no 'them'. YEA!!!!
Blessed Be...the meek! ; )

Is this in reference to the "sermon on the mount"? How did you choose just one verse as a point to your question.

The Sermon on the Mount is one of my most cherished parts of the Bible.

My answer is....regardless of whether it's before or after the earth is destroyed.....the Kingdom of Heaven will be inherited in whatever form it comes in. Would you prefer to live on this earth and watch it destroyed, because of hatred, greed, lust and anger? Or would you prefer that your children or relatives or loved ones....should live on a planet where some people actually cared about them? Meekness serves it's purpose, and certainly your child would appreciate a helping hand if you could not be there to help him/her....because you were fighting a war somewhere. The meek serve a purpose that is highly under estimated.

So actually the question lies in whether the destruction spoken of in Revelation and 1 Peter and others, is actually a literal destruction or if it is symbolic (using the Greek word for world as in people on the earth).

Ecclesiastes tells us that the earth is standing to time indefinite, even forever.

And, remember, God did destroy the world once before, in the flood - he washed it clean, destroyed all of the ungodly people. (not the meek - there were 8 of them) Jesus said that the coming destruction would be the same as in the days of Noah.

There is nothing wrong with the actual earth, that cannot right itself (even the pollution), if the polluters are gone. Revelation says that God is bringing to ruin those ruining the earth. If he was literally going to destroy it, then he would also have to destroy himself for ruining it as well.

IF God meant a literal destruction, he certainly wouldn't give it to the meek (those who listen to him and so are shown favor)

Nowhere in the bible does it say we bypass to heaven as quickly as we die. It does say what happens, and the others indexed under are quoting a number of that. Thess. explains this. different verses additionally. there is lots nonetheless to take place afterwards...the only thousand years(or possibly one thousand's), the judgment(an prolonged adventure pondering what number would desire to be judged). Jesus reported this to His human beings, and we are gentiles under grace. The bible exhibits that His human beings do inherit the earth lower back after it is throughout, and lots has to take place. an prolonged time.

Rev 21:1 -
Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

its after,
they inherit the earth for 1000 years where they live with god

then satan is released from the abyss to gather anyone who is dumb enough to follow him and armageddon happens with the whole battle between god and satan.
then the belivers go to the new jerusalm described in revelation.
