Look at irs.gov
Go to the form and publications page and look at the publications. The best publication to download and read through is publication 17. It contains an irs description of most of the general regulations for personal income tax issues. You can also look over all the IRS forms and instructions on how to fill out the forms.
best thing about it is its all free.

H&R Block does indeed offer an Income Tax Course, which is already going on in most areas. This Basic class is not offered online, however. In my area, we have some classes beginning next week, and are looking at holding some in November, so the situation may be similar where you live.
These classes cover what the average taxpayer needs to know, as well as things like education credits, saving for retirement, self-employment, Investment income, Itemized deductions and much more. I know I sound like a brochure, so I'm not going to try to hide the fact that I work for H&R Block and coordinate those classes. However, you can take the class even if you don't want to work for us, and it is very reasonable (in my area, at least). If you're interested, let me know and I'll see if I can get you hooked up with the classes in your area. My favorite thing is that I didn't plan on working for the company, and in the first year after I took the class, I saved more on taxes than the class cost me - and the class is cheaper now LOL.
Hope I was somewhat helpful. If you have specific tax questions, you can always check out our website, or shoot me an e-mail.
