I am doing a paper that states if a convicted child rapist is charged and evidence is certain. Should we remove the area of his brain that makes sex possible? What would the ethical and practical problems be?

Hello everyone, physical castration will not solve anything, most men who sexual abuse children use items other then their penises, that will not solve anything. The only thing that will stop them is chemical castration or like the question states the removal of the brain matter. I think the choice should be the rapist, he can either spend every last second of his life behind bars rotting away and being Bubba's love slave himself or he can get a smaller sentence of no less then 25 years if he opts for one or the other.
I do not think that the government should force the surgery, but I do think that it should be an option made to the rapist. If they want help, and some do, then that is great but if they don't then let them rot.

In several cases of child rape, the men have been casterated by his own free will to make sure that he does not do it anymore (the criminals even have to pay for their own surgery) And yes, I am talking about America. I have seen several documentaries about men getting their testicles removed because of this, and also chemical castration where they have to get an injection that makes them unable to get an erection. Sure, ethically this is a good start for them. But in my own personal opinion if I ever got my hands on a child rapist I would rip his thingie off with my bare hands and put it in a blender and make him eat his own thingie by sucking it out of the blender with a straw. I would have no ethics, no morals and no remorse about hurting one of these people, and show them what it's like to be hurt, vulnerable and defenseless. When people prey on small children to make themselves feel more powerful, then they need to die! I hate child rapists, they are the lowest life form on earth, and in my own personal opinion they should qualify for the death penalty.

I say we go back to biblical days, let the family of the victim deal with him. I fthey have no decent family that will stand up for them, let me deal with them. There is no excuse! I refuse to believe there is a part of the brain that tells these animals to rape a child. There is also a huge part of the brain called a conscience. And whether or not they choose to listen is the issue. I guarantee, that unless there is evidence of mental illness (medically proven) we can no longer, as people try to justify this behavior. If we castrated people for this crime, I'd be willing to bet, it wouldn't be so rampant.

Kill the bastard! They should make laws definitely more strict concerning this issue. Removing the area of his brain that makes sex possible is pretty good idea, but of course with jail sentence as well. I believe it would be ethical. I don't know how practical it would be though. How would that be done? Who would fund that, this procedure definitelly wouldnt be free?

I think someone who rapes a child is NOT a human and does not have to be treated as such..they have no rights, anything we do to them is OK..from brain surgery to burning at the stake!

I think tht whateverr punishment he is given,in addition he has to be given psychological treatment.Some serious problem is sure to be thr with his mental state to have such a feeling towards a child.

My thoughts on sex offenders is, lock them in prison for a long time for their first offense, and their second offense if they reoffend, for the third offense if there is one, I believe they should get sexually assaulted in prison for about a year, then they should be put in the electric chair or in front of the firing squad.

I think the best punishment for someone like that is to lock them in a room full of angry mothers...and he wont be walking out.

Castration sounds good. I don't know about the brain but without balls there is no desire for sex at all.

Inject him with somethin that will make his willy "lame". He shouldnt be able to get it up ever! That way, he'll have the urge to have sex, but wont be able to. That'll punish the bast ard
