There is probably a public hospital in your city, go to them with your problem. If not, call the welfare department and ask for suggestions.

Hey Girl, I know exactly what you are going through. My mom is the same as you, she is 50 years old, she's constantly in pain but she has no insurance. It's hard as heck to get to a doctor and get treatment for your ailments when you have no insurance. Not many doctors want to have visits from people who cannot pay. Most of them will not set up a payment plan so you can finance your doctor bills. It's a hard dang situation. I hate it that America does not have better health coverage for those who cannot afford it. Percocet is a grreat narcotic for those who are in constant pain, and it is the main drug that doctors are now being very stingy with and they are prescribing it less and less because they are so afraid that people might actually get to feeling better. lol I think that is one of the main problems today, is that doctors don't really want to help anyone all they want to do is just keep you coming back and coming back so they can continue to milk you of all your money. But if you have no insurane then you are screwed and have to try to make the best of over the counter pain pills such as ib profen and tylenol. And we all know that when you have severe pain on a daily basis those over the counter pills just don't cut it. So, I think the real issue here is the healthcare system. We need a better president and a better healthcare system. Until we get that, there is going to be lots of sick people with no treatment in our country.

First you should get on disability if you aren't already. Your community should have some services such as United Way, American Red Cross, etc. Call around and ask who can possibly provide whatever it is you need. Sometimes you will get lots of different leads to helpful sources. Good Luck!

Pray, hold on to faith. Never give up. Know that even though I dont know you my heart goes out to you. Have you tried social security disability? That may be a start as far as the monetary aspect is concerned.

If you haven't filed for social security disability you should do so OR file for medicaid (meds are free) and with social security you'd get medicare (prescrition assistance). Smoking will cause you problems everytime and I don't undersand why people STILL do it!

Go back to church.
If there isn't a community outreach program there they should be able to tell you where to find one. (go before the service and talk to the sunday school teacher)
