I believe that this has to do with materialism. The Number of the Beast, which is indeed identified as the number 666 (Rev. 13:18) appears to be related to Carbon 12 which is the basis for life, quite literally “The Number of Man;”

Here is a quote from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "Carbon-12 ... It contains 6 protons, 6 neutrons and 6 electrons."

Note what Rev. 13:18 reads “Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the Beast: for it is the number of man; and his number is Six hundred three score and six. ”

It appears that John allegorically used this to let people in the future know that his writings were true by identifying something he could not possibly know about in relation to the condition of the world, something that could only be done by a bonofied vision. Thus the Number of the Beast appears to be different then the Mark of the Beast (Rev. 13:16; 14:9; 20:4) John could not have had knowledge of Atoms other then their theoretical existence by Plato and other Greek philosophers, much less their subatomic composition.

Most people believe that only those people who accept the Mark of the Beast will be able to buy or sell. If you read the text (Rev. 13:17) you will not only find that this is not true but it lists three principles by which followers of the Beast are identified;

1-“The Mark” = Probably Privileged Membership in some organization, possibly identified by something like a microchip implant, or a metaphor to thoughts and actions in strong support of the Beast; such as in an elite group as in a political party or voluntary secret police.

2-“The Name” = Blind support of the Beast and the Government or Religion he establishes; i.e. worship.

3-“The Image or Number”= The worship of Consumerism. Consider that the Image of the Beast Comes to life and think about all the Machinery we have that works on it's own and/or caters to slothfulness and sheer vanity.

Those who have studied Biblical based Mysticism know that the Numerology of the Bible is based upon the Hebrew Numerological System.

600 is in reference to the duel meaning of the letter Shin ("sheen")or Siyn ("seen")which has the value of 300. It relates to an Oracle recorded in Psalms 119:161-168. As I understand it these two represent opposing forces. Thus siyn would mean the opposite of the Shin Oracle in the Book of Psalms. This is basically an Oracle of warning in this context.

60 is in reference to the duel meaning of the letter Samech ("saw'-mek"). It relates to an Oracle recorded in Psalms 119:113-120.

6 is in reference to the duel meaning of the letter Vau ("tawv"). It relates to an Oracle recorded in Psalms 119:49-56.

Indecently, for general info for those who would understand these things THE NEW AGE IS BOGUS. I know this from comparing the histories of religions that the Age of Aquarius as claimed to be here by the New Age Movement will NOT be here until the Spring Equinox of the year 4314CE (AD): At that time the Constellation Aquarius will appear in the First House of the Zodiac on that date, symbolizing “The Age of Aquarius.”

This is due to the western movement of the Ecliptic Plain on which the Constellations of the Zodiac move: 1 degree every 72 years for an age; created by 30 movements of 1 degree every 72 years, which results in each Age lasting 2160 years. The Zodiac Calendar starts on the Spring Equinox thus the true Age we are in by this Calendar is the Age of Aries. We know we are in the Age of Aries because the 1st ‘Ecliptic day’ (lasting 72 years) of an ‘Ecliptic Month’ (Zodiac Age) starts the Age just as October 1st starts the month of October. To say we are in the Age of Capricorn is like saying we are in the Month of July when we are in the Month of October.

Additionally, According to Rev. R. W. Morgan, in a lecture he gave on Druidism at Glastonbury in 1860, “Hu Gadarn founded Druidism on the ‘O’ of Taurus.” It is well known that Hu Gadarn was a Contemporary of Abraham; Abraham lived in the 22nd century BC. The “O” of Taurus was on the Spring Equinox of the year 2166 BC.

Biblical Mysticism teaches that Jesus was the first child born into the Age of Aries and that the “Star” which led the Wise Men (= Wizards = Astrologers; Matt. 2:1) to Jesus’ birth place in Bethlehem where he had been born on, by our calendar, March 21st 6 BC, was the emergence of the Constellation of Aries on the Spring Equinox. It is important to note here that this is considered symbolic of God’s promise to Abraham (Genesis 22) as it was a ram (note “Aries the Ram”) that took the place of Abraham’s son Isaac; the traditional animal slaughtered is a baby ram (Lev. 5:15; Isa. 1:11) which, like baby sheep, is also called a “Lamb.”
