There are indeed metabolic/endocrine disorders that result in these symptoms. You need to mention this to your primary care physician. They can do some simple tests on urine to determine if it is habit or you are unable to retain the necessary components. At that point, they can refer you to the appropriate specialist.

Actually, a salt deficiency can go on for years if it is not treated. In the human body, waters goes where salt goes. And for some reason your body is not retaining sodium (from what it sounds like). You could also have low blood pressure as a symptom of this "salt deficiency". It could be a hormonal dysfunction. Get it checked out. It does not, however, cause profuse bleeding or thin blood, or cause you to bleed to death. That person is just plain wrong.

From what I saw on the second site above your symptoms aren't necessarily associated; and you could get the required amount of sodium daily by something as simple as drinking a V8 and having a few crackers.

Salt cravings can be associated with "adrenalin fatigue" if you have lived under extreme, prolonged, stress to the point where your adrenal gland can no longer secrete enough cortisol. Salt cravings (or sugar cravings) are both symptoms.

Salt cravings can also be associated with hormones. Many PMS sufferers have a fierce craving for salt.

At six weeks i became so ill i'd desire to somewhat get away from mattress. If I ate something in any respect, it had to be candy...i could not handle something in the slightest degree salty or particularly spiced. I lived on caramel rice tarts, applesauce and Pedialyte for weeks earlier i'd desire to maintain the rest down, and that i lost 15lbs. After lots of screwing around to locate a drugs to regulate my intense nausea and vomiting, my cravings replaced and that i wanted purely salty issues. i wanted stuff i might in no way had to eat earlier...Ramen noodles, vegetable pink meat soup (the nasty condensed canned sort), meat ravioli. not precisely well-being food, yet i desperate that if it would stay down, i might eat it, considering not the rest appeared to artwork out. i'm now only approximately sixteen weeks and am waiting to eat somewhat extra in many cases. If eating helps you, do it. do exactly not eat a super meal each and every time. between the main efficient innovations for morning ailment is to eat 5 or 6 small nutrients an afternoon. breaking up your parts will help shop your tummy finished and your weight down. additionally, stick alongside with your cravings for now, they gained't steer you incorrect. in case you sense very strongly approximately eating a particular food, it is probable because of the fact your physique is seeking a nutrient in it that it is lacking. only be happy you're actually not vomiting each and every little thing you're eating like I did, it is not any relaxing. ultimate of luck and congratulations!

This sounds like it could be a sodium deficency, or an iodine deficency. Either way, that much salt is bad. See a doctor. If it is iodized salt, have them check your thyroid, particuarly if you are female.

Have your adrenal glands checked, not a test for diabetes. They can cause excessive secretion of salt and need for it.

yes, a sodium deficiency. but it shouldn't go on for years. you should ask your dr how to fix it once and for all. if you get too much, your blood will be too thin. if you get cut you can die from bleeding profusely
