The reason why I ask this is becuse, most pepole (expecally up north) Get this ideal that a illegal immagrant is comming here for work, comming here to prosper...
But the fact is, most of them are here to pool of our nations 'wealth'...and it is killing our economy. Welcome to the new China....except its us getting laid off in our own country...and being replaced by illegals.
Please tell me your opinions...Im open to all sides of the corn field.

They are both, instead of waiting their turn to come to this country. They bring their million kids, and take advantage of our systems. How the hell they going to come here ILLEGALLY, and DEMAND healthcare?
That's like me walking into someone's house and DEMANDING all of the food in their refrigerator! This has got to stop.

In a prime-time speech on immigration four months ago, President Bush called for tougher border enforcement balanced with a route to legality for some of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants already in the country.
Now, with elections in the offing, Bush is showing less interest in what he called "comprehensive immigration reform" and more in scoring some quick political points. He has signaled he would accept a piecemeal, enforcement-only approach favored by House Republicans, who are trying to ram a string of bills through the Senate.
Some of the ideas under consideration are worth including in a broad package of immigration reforms. Adding 700 miles of border fencing, for example, would help curb illegal crossings. A separate bill that would expand the Department of Homeland Security's powers to detain and deport people has some useful elements as well.We have excisting laws that need to be enforced.
Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):
A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:
assists an illegal alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or
encourages that illegal alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.

We're ALL needy and greedy. There is legal immigration and illegal immigration and because we are supposedly a country who embraces justice...there has to be control and checks/balances on immigration.
However, and this is a point I think too many of us are forgetting right now, the USA is not only about justice, but LIBERTY too. For ALL. We are a nation founded by the idea that we can take everyone from other nations and be one UNITED, great nation. So, no, I do not think immigration is illegal, it is in fact, the very founding fact that make us a country.
I recently visited the Statue of Liberty for the first time. I read, reread, and read again these words:
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles.
From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she with silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
This is America.

Greedy. It has nothing to do with survival and everything to do with prospering at other people's expense. Unless survival really does mean the newest game systems, the best cars, and plenty of free meals. Along with free English lessons, business grants, and free or cheap college educations. I wish we had it so good. I think I need a green card or a good tan and a bad accent.

People will always be both greedy and needy. Why not cut off their supply of jobs by enforcing laws against employing undocumented aliens? This will stem the tide.

I always wonder... Have those against immigrants ever traveled anywhere beyond their state? Have they traveled overseas? Because in that case, they'd LOVE diversity, and have a real blast enjoying what makes us all different!
Not traveling, or getting out enough does what it does to animals locked up: They get caged dementia.... Poor things

I think they are needy and it is our job to help the less fortonate. BIG BUSINESS (ie wal-mart) wants things cheap, and a lot of it. I like to think of the world as a huge pyramid scheme, as log as your at the top your good. But as a pyramid goes up it gets skinnier, less people fit. This makes me sick, this is why I'm not a republican...lol

They are needy because they are poor, but they are greedy because they flout the law to get out of poverty.
I do not care about one's socio-economic status/class... if you break the law you have to face the music, no questions asked.
