Also have sinus and allergy problems, and asthma. I take Flonase, Claritan and Benadrayl.

I know this is going to sound like a stupid question, but what other medications do you take? Do you have asthma? Ever have asthmatic bronchitis? High blood pressure?
I spent 2 1/2 years horribly sick from numerous respiratory infections--sinusitis, bronchitis, asthma, persistent cough, pneumonia, chronic ear infections from the constant sinus infections--which all started AFTER I was put on ace inhibitors for my high blood pressure. I finally found a doctor who listened to me and switched my blood pressure medications away from ace inhibitors (zestril, prinivil, lisinopril etc). Asthma went away, bronchitis hasn't been around in a long time, still get sinus infections from bad allergic reactions to airborne chemicals (perfumes, cleaning solutions, diesel exhaust fumes) but I'm otherwise healthy.
There are medications out there that have some nasty side effects.

sounds like your immune system is going downhill. i would consider the possibility of hepatitis b...
this isn't the only possibility, so i will list some to look into.
several illnesses have similiar symptoms, so cant be more specific.
lupus (rare in men)
hiv
hodgkin's lymphoma? (not sure of pathology on that one)
hepatitis b (or some other hepatitis)
there are also some genetic anomylies that can behave in this manner, but i cannot be more specific than that. there are tests for genetic mutations that cause immune health disorders - ask a specialist about it.
hope this helps a little - i am not a doctor, just a voracious reader.
good luck, sorry you're having such a hard time.
ps. chronic exposure to certain mold spores can causesome seriously nasty health issues. do you live in a damp area? if so, you may want to check for black mold...just a thought.
i suggest the mold, because a couple of years ago, my family began having these chronic problems too (went on for a year or more) - and we don't get sick often. turned out there was a black mold infestation under the house we were renting. we moved out, and havent had trouble since.

The cholecystitis and pancreatitis are a separate issue and, I hope, have been resolved by the cholecystectomy. In any case, I believe this is irrelevant to the URIs.
Your allergies may play a part in the upper respiratory infections as they can create conditions conducive to infection. Be wary of frequent antibiotic use. Are you certain the "colds" are really colds? Antibiotics aren't prescribed for viruses.
Do you clear your throat often? Do you ever feel like there's phlegm at the back of your throat that you can't quite swallow? Do you gag and/or vomit for no apparent reason? These are symptoms of PND (postnasal drip). Chronic PND can lead to pharyngitis (sore throat) and even bronchitis.
Good hand hygiene is important. Good for you. Practicing good and frequent oral hygiene can reduce the numbers of bacteria and viruses in the mouth. The membrane of the mouth, nose, GI tract and respiratory tract are continuous. Bacteria in the mouth can find its way to the upper respiratory tract.
If your pharyngeal tonsils are intact and in good shape, it may be that you should see an Allergist for sensitivity testing and desensitization (immunotherapy). An Allergist can treat you for PND, which is allergy-based, as well.

From the trend I would say the anti-biotics after the surgery are what knocked your immune system down and have caused the continuing problems. Anti-biotics may help problem here and now but they also deplete the immune system along with hurting the colon and killing good bacteria. So not only does it weaken the immune system but they also hamper the absorption on nutrients in the digestive tract. So your body has a tough time getting back in shape.

I don't know about your operation or dematitis but the other symptoms has affected hundreds of people in my area. My family has had the same symptoms as you have and keep getting it over and over again. Just something going around I guess. Hang in there after several months it did go away.
