REVOLUTION is the best product I have ever used..My friend visited me last summer..she lives where the fleas are terrible, so I sent her home with Revolution..she was amazed at the difference it made..

It is a new spot-on treatment you can get at most vet clinics.. It also prevents heartworm and many other parasites.

Lots of good answers. Does your dog have so many fleas they are jumping off? You need to kill the fleas in order to keep them gone. It sounds really mean, but you need to fill the bath tub and hold your dog in it until all the fleas are dead. Then bathe him with flea shampoo and make sure you leave it on for a few minutes. The instructions will tell you the duration that a particular shampoo will need to remain on the dog. Then when he is dry, give him the advantage, or whatever product you chose. There is no reason to give a dog a pill for a problem that occurs on his skin. The obvious answer here is to keep your dog inside where he belongs. Putting him outside increases his risk of many problems, including fleas. You can also use a flea comb, but I would not recommend using a collar, since they are fairly toxic for children. Hope this helps.

I had a flea problem once with my cats. I had to have my whole house fogged for fleas, the problem had gotten so bad. When the person doing the fuming came, I told her I had cats and wanted to know how to rid them of fleas. She suggested I wash them in Ivory Dish Soap. I checked with my vet and they said it was safe and should work.

So, I tried it (though my cats didn't care for the idea too much) and it worked very well.

I'd suggest that you first of all consider where the fleas are coming from. If your house is infested, then just treating your dog might not be enough. You may need to treat your entire house, and your dog and other pets. My problem didn't come from my cats, but from my neighbor who had dogs. Their dogs flea problem combined with cold weather got the fleas into my house, feasting on my family and my cats.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Fleas are a pain! First get a shampoo for fleas for your dog, then treat your whole home with a flea killer. Otherwise your dog will keep catching them.

Have you ever tried advantage???? I had a cat that was infested with fleas and when i put it on her, every flea died and I never had a problem sense. But you might want to call your vet and see if there is another product they would recommend. Or you might consider have your yard fumigated by a professional exterminator.

You might be shampooing the frontline off. Dawn dish soap works good on fleas btw but you would probably want to use a conditioner right after. Give him a bath BEFORE you put on the spot on. A spot on must sit for a few days otherwise it can wash off.

use a topical treatment like frontline, advantage, advocate, revolution.
dont bother with flea shampoos they wont work unless the bedding and carpet in your haopuse has no fleas in in the above mentioned goes on the back of the neck once a month every month. if you donr use it every month then dont expect to get rid of fleas. keep it up.

Flea shampoo (as opposed to real poo) and bathe your dog. Apply flea powder or drops to your dog's coat. THEN, you need to treat areas where your dog may sleep or lie down. Any blankets and / or clothing your dog uses, will need to be destroyed. If not, eggs will hatch and your dog will be reinfested.
