Well.. at that age, people are normal to admire older people or people at the same age. They actually need to experience that in order for them to enjoy every stages of growing up. It willl also develop their maturity. Its just a transition in every stages of life and its normal. What you should be worried about is, the Adult (The Principal) make sure that he is trustworthy and will never take advantage of the child's feelings that can result to child molestation. Be open with her and tell her that its ok but she has take care of herself as well by telling you if there is anybody who's making an odd actions towards her. Educate her as well about puberty and something about adolesence development stage and all that. And most important of all. Her safety.

its infatuation.she should get over it soon.just mention that its crazy.but dont go on repeating how odd her 'love' for the principal is,it'll just make her more stubborn.ignore her love, just listen but dont comment.be with her and see that she doesnt do anything stupid like proposing to him etc.if u think shes going over-board confide in ur school councellor or an elder member of ur or her family.but dont ger entangled urself.at the end of the day its her life not urs so u r in no way responsible for her.

This isn't unusual for people that age. She'll get over it after awhile. As long as there's no real relationship going on, and it's just her feelings from afar, it's not really a problem.

It's just a crush, but the principal may know about this, and it is HIS job to nip this in the bud!
