Chinese. I studied it for a year and got quite a good grade, and my teacher was excellent, and a native Chinese speaker. But the tones were a mystery. Most Chinese words are short, like single syllable. There are five tones,so there are five different words that sound like yi. Chinese grammar is simpler than Greek, and the word order in Chinese is similar to English. But I can't hold a simple conversation in Chinese, like I could in French, Japanese, Arabic, Russian or Dutch after I'd studied those languages for the same length of time. I've never studied Greek; I only know one Greek word (skatos, the most important word in any language), but I know enough about it to realise that it's easy for an English speaker to learn. Which do I prefer? No preference. Aesthetically I like both, and I associate both with the country's cuisine. Both Greek and Chinese food are good.

Chinese is very difficult because of the intonations/inflections in the tones. Many words sound the same but are completely different, so you have to be very careful how you pronounce things. Also the Chinese language has about 5,000 written characters but the people generally know about 3,000, a bit different to 26.
I love the chinese language, I'm working here and picking it up as I go along

Greek is neither baffling nor very difficult, once you mastered the alpabet, Chinese is just too hard for me.

English. It is spoken in so many different sliced dialect's that most often, what one person might say, is so misunderstood that ,when asked again ,you get a whole new meaning to what was said.Greek is much easier to learm . but chinese, well I really don't think that it can ever be spoken as a native (as in born in China) but It can be understood quickly .
