So i have the girlfriend. we've been going out for two months. and so the other day this guy lance transfers to the school that we both attend. apparently.. alexis (my gf) and lance were best friends in middle school and elementary school and stuff. when she first saw him in the halls she was so excited and surprised that she practically jumped on him..flung her arms around him and gave him a peck on the lips. i was just like..umm WTF? i was caught so off guard. i asked her about it later and she said that its nothing romantic and that they are just reallyy good friends and she loves him. she said she just missed him and it just happened. but now..everytime he sees her he gives her a kiss on the cheek or a peck on her lips and he thinks its okay. i told him to stop kissing my girl alot but he says its nothing to worry about. i guess i just want to know if it's normal for "Best friends" to kiss and stuff. ohh..and if they really are "best friends" why didn't they stay in touch? um..help

I know girls get excited about people they missed but all that isn't necessary. She knew you were standing there and to me she just totally disrespected you. But you guys are young and have only been going together for two months. I couldn't deal with it personally. I wouldn't. I would broom her a$$. Then they can kiss all they want.

How can anyone at your age have a committed, non interfering relationship when the hormones are running wide open, interaction is like a class 5 rapid and all rules don't apply all the time.... even though you think they should.... well, they don't.

People at this age will do what they want because they really have no idea what they are doing... you think you know how it should be.... but heck, a percentage of adults can't even keep their mind straight when it comes to human interaction and boundaries.

Be respectful of who she is, a free person able to make her own choices, she should be mind-full of those around her but nothing is requiring her too... we want control and conformity.. but that in actuallity is not a given, dealing with this age group.

Be glad to be part of her life and times... it can quickly change.. smile and be glad that you have this time in your life too experience these things.. good and bad.. don't freak cause sometimes we win and other times we get dumped... oh well..

Have fun, enjoy life and cherish the memories...

dont know if this will help you at all
but i have 2 different male friends that i have had a very close friendship with over the past 10 or so years
tried and true friends
we are all attractive people and sometimes even attracted to each other (guy girl girl guy thing lol)
but mainly and always we are friends to each other
sometimes we go months without seeing or talking
but we never grow apart from each other
we tell each other we love each other alot
i mean im not shy to tell one of them that and they also are very open about saying 'i love you ' to me
and i am strictly friends with each of them
so there are weird things out there lol

now my opinion...........about the kissing...........not cool
kissing isnt generally a part of a relationship between two friends
kissing is expressing interest in someone romantically

good luck

You know men and women can be best friends and not even think of sex!! I get so pissed off about it. I don't trust most women (because I have been screwed over by some that were supposed to be my best friends,) and my best friends are mostly guys, and some of them are married, some single but most of them will either give me a kiss or a big hug. Even the sheriff and deputies where I live are my friends and I get hugs from them. So don't read anything into it until you ask her to tell you the truth. Then if you see them in a compromising situation, kick his @ss(just don't get caught) and get rid of her!!

Dear Friend,
This seems normal for two friends meeting after a long gap to kiss for first time they see each other not always. So b cautious, there can b some more than just friendship.

If you've explained it to her that you're uncomfortable with them kissing as a greeting and she still does it, she obviously doesn't give a care about your feelings. Time to tell her BYE BYE

yah it would make me alil uncomfortable to but try to give her more credit, its you thats gets to hold her tight and dont forget that, but if its really bothering you i would suggest a heart to heart talk with your gf to clear the air for it is kinda disrespecting you in front of your freinds and you should let her know that
