Why do some people automatically assume they're going there? It's kind of arrogant.

No Seth I'm not scared. I only care because a lot of these people don't concentrate on the affairs of this world (starvation, genocide), but are too wrapped up in the affairs of the supposed next.

To desire heaven isn't selfish, but people have selfish reasons for wanting to go there. Too many people want a free ticket into heaven without doing what God requires of them--to seek to live for Him through salvation by Jesus alone, and not by their own "good deeds" that they could try to bribe God with. But for those who realize that their righteousness is not because of themselves but only because of Jesus, they are the ones who will go to heaven because in their selflessness, they've sought God first and not their own desires.

in elementary words God knows the share. If someone claims that we received't understand the reality about what God favors, then they're making a declare it quite is in simple terms as falsifiable because the above one you requested. Being organic does no longer assure admittance. An all ideal being would not be in a position to tolerate wickedness in his presence, that is why Christianity is so progressive, because the chasm between us and perfection is so large that the perfect being got here to us and created the bridge for us. Hell isn't any extra relaxing. imagine the most well-loved day of your existence, multiply it through one thousand and then there is not any longer a unmarried Starbucks or water fountain everywhere (no beer both).

I have a question for you. If you think heaven is just a "selfish pipe dream" (which it's not), then why do you care if some people assume that they are going there? It's like you want to believe but you're scared to.

I don't think it's selfish. There should allways be rewards for hard work, it's nice that it's good works that grant you access to Heaven. I think it's contradictory that people will be healed of their mental illnesses in heaven, including homosexuality and pedophilia but won't be cured of intollerance or religious related dementia.

i do not automatically assume i am going to heaven. in fact, i know i am not, because i am an atheist and therefor i do not believe in heaven.....however, a lot of people think that they deserve to go to heaven, just because they believe in god.

Some do think they are going, some "know" they are going, others doubt that they ever will make it. I don't believe in heaven, but I think that those who do are blessed and comforted. I would not begrudge that to them.

Well when you have had glimpses of it throughout your life, it is hard not the believe it exists. It is real, but you have to leave the ego behind.

So I'm arrogant! I've been called worse, and I will be called worse. So.
But I'll tell you its a good feeling knowing I will live forever!

We don't assume, we have faith, wow, atheists don't get their facts straight. That's probably why these people are atheists, because they were too stupid to know anything, IMO.
