It's kinda fun.
Who can resist sharing verses like this ?
Revelations5:6 And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders, I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth;
Especially when you were brought up to believe that the bible is true and that you might burn in hell !

I think it is about trying to restore harmony to conflicting opinions. If we let go of viewing situations as troubled and see others for who they really are we come to the understanding that beauty and light shines within everyone. By holding an elevated viewpoint miraculous healing occurs revealing the clean new truth about everyone and everything.

Oh I do hope that Jewish comes under freethinker. For me, the best tack is to avoid them altogether. Biblical literalists are a nest of contradictions as they cannot agree what parts to take literally. Yet we do see a growing number of people who love getting to grips with them and this may be for any one of three reasons. They are either insecure of their own beliefs, angry with the extremists or they just do it for fun.

It is amazing to me that anyone could continue to believe this nonsense. Why wouldn't God tell it like it is...instead of letting folk believe ancient ideas...like stars are little lights stuck in the sky, the Earth is flat, the firmament thing, etc.etc. Modern fundamentalists are either just ignorant or they are being deliberately obtuse. If I could give an answer that made one person think hard about their delusion...I'd be happy.

I`m an atheist and I don`t think you go `back and forth around the world` your probably referring to missionary work, in which case some christians do, you probably don`t, but some do even to this day. If you ask me there is something unsettling about a group of people going to a primitive land, dismantling the locals culture and beliefs, and then spoon feeding their own to them. Whatever it`s called by the `pioneers` it`s intolerance by any other language.

It's what I call the war of ideas.
It is frustrating for believers to find the reasoning of atheists and pagans and it is their religious responsibility to educate those person about their beliefs.
And it is frustrating for atheists and free thinkers to find the reasoning of believers. They are missing life by playing the to be the chosen one , to hold a copyright , a reservation in heaven. And they find great pleasure to break those stupid ideologies and find themselves intelligent in doing so.

Because freethinkers /atheists know they are living a lie and need Jesus.They may have had problems with christians that were rude, ignorant and /or immature and offended them or made them feel unwelcome for whatever reason but Jesus is still alive and offering them the gift of salvation if they come to Him and ignore what everyone else is doing.

If they would go to their own corner and be quiet, we wouldn't have to keep going round and round with them.

Friendly debate is fun and informative. I think we pagans cause Christians to rethink things sometimes.

My target audience when participating in public forums are the undecideds. My words are directed at them.
I really don't care what diehard thumpers believe or claim because they are totally irrelevant for my purposes.
For every person who responds, at least 10 others remain silent, but they have read the words. And, that is all that really matters.
