I had blonde highlights put in my natural dark brown hair about 2 weeks ago. It wasn't my first time doing highlights, it was a touchup. However, since my natural hair color is so dark, i dont think it was bleached out completely before she put in toner. Now it's starting to look brassy. I've used a color shampoo called ArTec that's supposedly gets rid of brassiness but it doesnt! Should i put in a violet/blue based toner for my highlights this weekend?

Use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week. It is probably partially your water that is making your hair brassy. You can also try using a highlighting cream to make your hair lighter and get rid of some of the yellow.

Ur definately on the right track, violet/blue will cut the brassiness, as a professional this is one of the hardest color corrections to do, it possibly could be corrected just by applying a toner to the brassy part, but it may have to be lightened up again, a couple more shades then toner put on to get it up and out of the gold stage. for a temporary fix, there are blueing shampoos which can help, dont know about ArTec, which u say doesnt work, u could also get a temporary Roux rinse, in blue to correct it but that will wash out, its best to try and get thru the weekend and have a professional fix it, they can better see where color will need to be applied, if you get the toner on the natural color it can change that and then u will have something else to deal with in fixing.

use a golden toner, and follow up with a a product like john frieda hair hi-lighter, its a leave in conditioner, very light weight. Doesnt work, get a highlighted again somewhere else!

redo the whole process. I am a cosmetlogist and know it is very hard to go fro dark brown to blonde. I suggest sticking to more of a honey/carmel color of highights,.
I personally would chose simply silver shamoo for Nexxus, however this wont totally correct the situation,

I would use the toner. then try the shampoo. the shampoo would not be as effective as the toner.
