My dog is litter trained and most of the times he will go in his litter box. Some times he will go poo on the floor but he only does this when we are gone or sleeping. And for some reason he always poos in our son's room. Now we keep his door closed but our dog will now go buy the bathroom or our son's door. Any suggestions on way and what to do about it.

The thing is the dog loves my son, is always happy to see him and sad to see him go out side he whines at the door when he leaves, it's my daughter that he isn't to sure of.

When he is alone, he feels insecure...He poops where the 'hidden monsters' won't recognize his scent..
If you feed him three time per day, and take the food dish away 4 hours before bedtime, he will likely not poop through the night..Keep water down at all times.
Another help is to have a night light near his litter box..

Let him know that pooping anywhere other than outside or in his box is bad behavior. Be the Alpha male/female.

The other answers were good. Something is going on between your dog and your son. Don't feed him before everyone goes to sleep (right around your own dinner time is good). In about 90 minutes, either take him out or send him to his box.

Good luck.

Sounds like your dog is miffed at your son, or trying to be dominant to him.

If he is just doing this when you are out or asleep, perhaps you will need to confine him to a room to himself
