What's RTI? Do you mean URI, upper respiratory tract infection? Surely you don't mean respiratory tract infection. Not in this case.

There are several meds used to treat sinusitis: Augmentin (already mentioned), Spectracef, Vantin, Cefzil, Ceftin, Biaxin, Tequin, Lorabid, and Avelox. There's a new one called Ketek but it's telithromycin and may be ineffective for this person due to resistance. These meds I've listed for you are used to treat URIs as well.

This person really needs to discuss with a health care provider, MD, NP or PA, what the best protocol would be for him/her as I have no knowledge of co-existing conditions or what other medications he or she may be taking.

Incidentally, saline sprays are great for the nasal cavity but they do not reach the sinus cavities nor are they meant to.

I use normal saline for alot of sinus issues it flushes everything out of the sinus cavity and you can use it numerous times a day.Able to get it pretty much anywhere as a nasal spray. Try that for a few days and see how it works
