Good question. Why would they be fearful? I thought they were all (the 12 apostles) willing to die for Jesus. Isn't that how the story goes?

1. there wasnt any christians at that time
2. they didn't even believe that who was being crucified was the son of their God
3. and they did do something, all who were present with the son at the time of his arrest run away to save their own hides. there was even 1 person who denied knowing the son 3 times (even cursing on the 3rd time).
4. and yes, the first "christians" were the same people above... but became like changed "men" when they realized that all the prophesies about the son of God was fulfilled, when they saw in the flesh that the one they allowed to be crucified was alive again & when they received the Holy Spirit (as the guarantee and the assurance of their God). they were changed from fearful to fearless.
so christianity wasnt founded on fear. on the contrary the first christians became laughing stocks, (the very name christian was a sick joke) some of them became human torches, some became whipping boards, some became dodgeball targets (the balls being stones), some became live food for wild animals, and every christian had to endure all sorts of ridicule, hardship, pain and even death...instead of renouncing their faith.

Probably because if they did they would have been crucified also. The Romans had no problem killing people.
I'm sure no one spoke up against Rome, and lived to tell it.
After the Crucifixion of Christ Christian's became martyrs, they died as the Jews did during world war two, they didn't fight it.
The Christians were killed in all ways possible to kill a person, it's said they would sing while being burnt alive. So it was founded on the love of Christ not fear.

I'm not positive of this but I have always thought that there were no Christians until Jesus Christ the son of God began teaching. Since there were no census takers, we don't know how may Christians there were. After he was tortured and hung on the cross and died for us, was when his following began to grow. It all was a plan that his life took the course it did. I ask you to allow me the freedom to believe and allow me to have faith in teachings of Jesus. I'm okay with you question. Okay?

It says you are pretty ignorant of the Bible.
#1 There wern't any Christians yet.
#2 Jesus came to die for the sins of man.
#3 He knew he'd be resurrected
#4 He said"I lay down my life willingly,no man takes it from me.I have the power to lay it down and the power to take it up again".
#5 He died when he wanted to die.Every time they tried to kill him before the right time,he'd just walk right through them and they'd all stand there confused.
He was the fulfillment of the Passover Lamb,in the Old Testament.
The reason his disciples didn't do much(Peter made a 1/2 hearted attempt)was also fulfilling Zechariah's prophecy"Strike the Shepard and the sheep will be scattered"....
Well, they got their "Huevos"back at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came.

Christianity revolves around the resurrection of Christ, which could not have happened without the crucifixion. The disciples were only human and before Christ's resurrection were acting just as anyone else would. AFTER His resurrection, though, nobody could deny that something had happened that changed their lives dramatically and permanently.

No one, except perhaps the Blessed Virgin Mary knew what was really going on with Jesus' crucifixion until he rose again from the dead three days later.
There were no real Christians in existence at the time, just a few disciples, and they were in as much danger as Jesus was.
Once Jesus rose again, and made sure they understood everything, the apostles and disciples had no trouble giving their lives for what they knew to be true.

First of all. How dare you call your self God? You, and I, and he, and she are all God's slaves, and you don't have the right to call your self something you are not eligible for.
Second, at that time people didn't believe in Jesus as a God, they followed him as a prophet as he told them. Christianity only came later on when people began giving Jesus densities from their own point of view.
PLEASE change your name, it's not right

Christianity was not around at that time for one.
It was planned from the begining and even Jesus Christ did not allow his angels and cheribums to rescue him, thus would he have allowed humans to rescue him when that had to happen?
Are you judging Jehovah and his plan?
Are you the one to say what is right to god is wrong to man?
How do you explain why God created you?

It says that they are human. Furthermore, many of Jesus' supporters went on to persecution and gruesome deaths, so they obviously got over the fear that was holding them back.
