I Live with my mom, but my dad is a good person and I am worried about his health

continue to be there for your dad. when the addiction starts to impact the family negatively, set boundaries around your dad though keep telling him you will be there for him if he decides to get better and to think about doing recovery. when he's ready to help himself, suggest for him to do a program of recovery. this may look like referring himself in to a residential recovery program that practices the 12 steps to recovery. this is essential to any person who is wanting recovery from addiction.

its a hard question, if he has a huge hobbie, let him focus on that and forget about, (sounds unrealistic but it helped me out when I listened to music and quit my addiction of cigarettes). If worse come to worst ask him to go the hospital i hear they give shots where people reduce their addictions.

Im sorry to hear that but when trying to quit, the body will make its own very real pain to get that fix. Very bad stuff but I do wish you all the best on that.
