They were legal immigrants. There is legal immigration and illegal immigration and because we are supposedly a country who embraces justice...there has to be control and checks/balances on immigration.
However, and this is a point I think too many of us are forgetting right now, the USA is not only about justice, but LIBERTY too. For ALL. We are a nation founded by the idea that we can take everyone from other nations and be one UNITED, great nation. So, no, I do not think immigration is illegal, it is in fact, the very founding fact that make us a country.
I recently visited the Statue of Liberty for the first time. I read, reread, and read again these words:
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles.
From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she with silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
This is America.

The only problem is that we shouldn't be offering classes in Spanish... This is the US, we speak English here. Learn to speak English. If I moved to Mexico, they would not offer my kids classes in English. My kids would either learn Spanish or fail. It should be the same here! The reason those teachers were needed is because there are so many illegals there and they are supposed to go to our schools, paid for by my tax dollar. Needless to say, I am against the hiring and i think they would have been better served to hire non-Spanish speaking teachers to work with the students and get them to learn ENGLISH...
Also what do you mean by "the begging by the way'?

the precedence is it has and they are very afraid that immigrants supposedly favor to take it again. In colleges the Mexican American conflict is taught only promptly, explaining only the significant battles yet no longer the political heritage and the motives behind it. They dont practice how a united statesbatalion changed into despatched to the border to electrify Mexican troops and the way they did some purpose practice through capturing through the border till the hit a mexican officer and mexican troops again hearth. They dont practice what occurred after it, how Mexican land proprietors were lynched, stripped of their property, or perhaps incarcerated lower than fake accusations. They dont practice about a number of the genocide that occured afterwards. they do no longer practice that president Polk had provided to purchase the states from Mexico earlier for a ridiculously low quantity of money which the mexican authorities took as an insult. They dont practice that Polk needed the land to boost slavery. Thats the reality of all of it.

I doubt that they were hired because they are bilingual. They were hired because they will do the job for half the price that an American will. Everyone says that Americans won't do the job. Wrong. They won't do it for pennies like Mexicans will.
There are plenty of Americans will do the jobs Mexicans do, they just won't do it $1.00 an hour like Mexicans will. We could easily fill all jobs if they would pay what Americans are worth.
When you are in the U.S. you shouldn't have to have teachers that are bilingual. The official language in the U.S. is English, not Spanish.

Did you ever stop to think...if the Teacher salaries in most American Schools, were in any way decent, more Americans would take the time to learn a second language and then they would have applied for those positions?
What's a shame, is the way you think!
Maybe, just maybe...One of those Mexican Teachers will teach you how to spell in English and use proper grammar!

You have opened a can of worms.
Why is it exactly that we need all those bilingual teachers in Texas schools to begin with?
And in any event, I bet the teachers are immigrating legally, so what is your point?

if the mexicans were american citizens, then whats the problem? hey maybe a mexican american who can speak english can maybe teach english better to those who cant speak it.
wait, are u dogging the mexicans or the americans? if dogging on the americans, what american would want to teach kids they cant even speak to...instead, they move somewhere else where the get the same or even more pay where the kids know english, ergo their workload isnt that hard and stressful.

Good American teachers, want to teach English speaking American children, for good wages. For those teaching jobs, there are plenty of qualified American teachers.

I always wonder... Have those against immigrants ever traveled anywhere beyond their state? Have they traveled overseas? Because in that case, they'd LOVE diversity, and have a real blast enjoying what makes us all different!
Not traveling, or getting out enough does what it does to animals locked up: They get caged dementia.... Poor things

I think it's wonderful I used to work for a place that did referrals for the homeless and working poor where we helped them to get on food stamps, find shelters, medical help etc... The one thing we could not find was a bilingual person to field the phone calls. And for those who think that the illegal aliens can get food stamps and Medicaid when I say I know they can't that's how i know.
