Yep. The cemetaries and the plantations are haunted. I have some great haunted house stories. It's the best city ever.

You betcha! Dennis William Hauck's Haunted Places: The National Directory (1994, reprint 1996) lists the following examples:
1) Beauregard House (built 1812)
2) Cities Service Tanker Dock
3) Gardette-LePretre House (pre- or early-1790's)
4) Griffin House (1852)
5) Hermann-Grima House
6) LaLaurie House (1832)
7) Marie Laveau House
8) Pharmacie Francaise
9) St. Louis Cemetery
10 ) Voodoo Museum
I just wrote a TRUE ghost story for my 360 page.

I believe that if you believe in such things as haunted, then you will find some very old and very new hauntings in a wonderful city that is full of history.
You should go to New Orleans and find out for yourself. I think the city (not the city's gov.) is very full of information and can teach us all something.
I love New Orleans and planned on moving there last summer. In fact, my husband and I were house hunting only a couple of days before Hurricane Katrina. I love that city and the wonderful people that had resided in it. I hope that in a short period of time the info-structure will be back so that I can live where my soul resides.

Depends on what you believe. I am from Louisiana and have spent time in New Orleans, if you plan to go do your research. Plantations are the best places, just think of all the unjust that happen back then on the plantations. There are plantations there that are a bed and breakfast, look into those.
