I answered a question about a week ago about the "crimes" committed by muslim leaders. One answer that really took my eye was something like this. "I am getting sick of people judging muslim's based on what the media says" Does that mean the media is telling lies? If Muslim people are getting angry about people getting angry about hearing the stories of innocent women and chidren being killed by Muslim "prophets"/"leaders in the name of God"...then why dont they back it up with explanations of why innocent people are being killed by the Muslim faith. Please explain why a pre-school was held to ransom...why were children killed...Please explain....or were the stories and pictures I saw on television ficticious. I am not being sarcastic...I would really like to understand.

Excuse me Observer. how can I be more violent...I have never killed anyone...I am a human being being influenced by what I see on the television. I have not made any racisist comments...I am asking for an explanation. I am asking is what I am seeing on television wrong?...I am asking to be educated on why these things are happening. If all you can come up with is to criticise my question, then you have as much hatred in you as you are accusing me of having.

And I dont think Adolf Hitler perverted Christian Beliefs....I think Adolf Hitler had his own agenda based on no beliefs except his own. It is now common knowedge that Hitler was believed to have had a psychiatric/mental illness.

In a sense the media is telling lies because they don't show you the whole picture. In the news especially, the details have been reduced to "soundbites" so there is only so much they will tell you therefore your knowledge of the piece of news is relatively limited. I believe that people who have never heard of Islam or people who aren't familiar with the basic the teachings of Islam, after watching the 6 o'clock news , will automatically assume that it has something to do with the religion. I don't blame them.
However, it is up to all of us to educate ourselves about these things, right?

Why are innocent people being killed by "Muslims"? First of all, just because they're Muslims it doesn't mean there's something in the Qur'an that actually says it's ok for them to kill innocent people.

Surah Al-Maida 5.32 : We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person - Unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief - it would be as if he killed all Mankind. And if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all Mankind.

Surah Al-Isra 17.33: And do not take life - Which Allah has made holy - Except for just (and true) cause. And if anyone has killed wrongfully, We have given his heir the right (to demand justice within due limits or to forgive).

Muslims are only allowed to fight or go to war against injustice or oppression. Otherwise are all to live in peace and accept one another for our different religions. This is clearly stated in the Qur'an too.

Suicide bombers who say they do it in the name of Islam aren't right either. Suicide is a HUGE SIN in Islam. My point is that these people have other agendas (besides to terrorise others). Maybe they're just desperate for someone to hear their side of the story? When they go around murdering innocent children and people, trust me it's not for God. What will God benefit from the deaths of his most precious creations? Ask yourself that.

Let us not forget that evil things have been done by people who are of other faith. What about the recent high school hostage in Colorado, is that right? A 16 y/o girl was killed. Does anyone bother to ask what religion that murderer was of? No, because he's just another rotten apple in the American barrel of ordinary, harmless apples. It's the same in Islam, terrorists are the rotten apples of our community. They have brought shame to our people & religion.

It's a valid question and deserves some thought. I think we live in a sensationalistic world, for the most part. I watch news from around the world and, for the most part, western civilization prints and airs what will get the most viewers. After 9-11, we wanted to rant and rave about "Muslims". Everyone I know was glued to a TV. Businesses ran cables and set up TV's for employees and didn't even complain that workers were not working. It was a traumatic time. We now have no choice but to fight the extremist who are really a small sect of Islam. In a sense, we gave them power to capture the media because that is what we watched and read about. If you watch TV or read newspapers now, you will see the political spin on the war on terrorism. I think that we need to stand up as intelligent beings and realize that the terrorists are not all Muslims, but a few. We can only take back their power by understanding that they are a minority. We stand up for the Muslims who are peaceful and really the majority. It is true that many Arabs dislike the United States, but they are few who are attempting to kill us. When a country, Iran, stands up and says kill the Christians or all must bow to Islam, we tend to give credence to his remarks by running it over and over. I watch news from around the world and it is only the sensationalist West that sort of glorifies these insanities. We must deal with them because we are attacked; but it would defeat the terrorist much faster if we could show Islam that we are loving rather than hating. Ironicly, we must not hate while we search for those who actually attacked us. I'm a Christian. I would not bow to Islam under duress or otherwise. I would die gladly first. I gotta say, though, that this hatred of ALL Muslims disturbs me more than the terrorists. Unfortunately, good news rarely hits the newstand and that's the world we live in.

Dear, crimes are always crimes whether these are committed by Muslims or Non-muslims. You gave example of muslims angeris on media's. What you thing about the crimes by US and Western soldiers in Afganistan, Iraq and Guantanamobey. and Israil's on Palestinaia people. What the media says about this all.

However, no religion is against human beings, all religion are to spread love among the people. Muslims are based on love to all mankind without respect to their color, religion and boundaries. There may be some people due to which whole muslims can not be blamed.

About the television report, it has been observed that most of the media always gives us one side picture, they should shold show the people of the other side of the picture too.

So my dear be relax, just think we are human beings and are here for some period. Be happy and do happy.

if you are asking to contend then no answer will suffice.if your looking for the truth then hold on tight.you ask about the pre school in beslan i presume?it was not only a preschool, not that it makes a difference.but you are asking for facts right?first lets come to grips with the fact that muslims follow a certain law.that law being an eye for an eye...under islamic law your family, property, way of life are all sacred.the most adherent to classical islam interpret this to allow the killing of your civilians as a means to stop you from killing theirs.life for a life.as far as chechnya is concerned, human rights groups from the world over has reported and condemned russian indiscriminate killings of civilians.to the tune of 20,000 children.imagine the sorrow of their mothers.imagine your mother...so the raid was to force the russian governmemnt to leave off their agression.this was their explanation.you seem to claim that all who die are innocent.but how could we know.the chechen response is since putin was voted in to eradicate the chechen problem once and for all, then they the russian people should also be held accountable to the law.tooth for a tooth.i feel your ignorant to the facts.we do not turn the other cheek.thats your way.and you nor i have the right to tell any of them how they should kill the murderers of their families.

we should be thankful that we arnt connected directly to these horrible crimes. alot of people have said this; those might have been done by muslim radicals/extremists and not the peace loving ones. not all of them are like that. it happens in the middle east but not only the middle east is a muslim country. some parts of southeast asia are as well, yet live peacefully among the other races/religions. might be due to the lack of true islamic teachings and they turn a blind eye to parts of the teachings which actually carries the message of peace. the same as how christians chose parts of the bible to follow and parts to ignore. i know its baffling and sad to read and see pictures of all this, but from the muslims side they would retaliate by asking, why would the us soldiers sacrifice civilians for their cause? torture the innocent? bomb childrens homes? etc. its a never ending circle. i wish everyone wouldnt fall into the loop, rather break out of it and start a fresh peace treaty. if the leaders cant do it then we should.

As with all religions some people twist the words to suit their own agendas. If you remember your history Adolf Hitler Perverted Christianatys teachings to justify the slaughter of over 6 million people.
You can't believe everything you see, to assume that the violent people you see on CNN represent the whole of Islam would be like assuming the jackasses in the KKK represent the whole of Christianaty.

The better tact would be to explain how these violent sub-groups do not represent the true Islam.

Just like the God Hates Fags group or KKK doesn't represent the true Christianity.

The media does not show a representative sample of any group. Therein lies the problem they have with the media.

The media only shows extremely radical Islam, and practices that are not commonly shared with the moderates. It's like only teachings kids about the Crusades and the KKK as far as Christianity is concerned.

I somewhat agree.
I mean, why aren't moderate Muslims coming out and condeming these actions. Why when the Pope says something they don't like, they burn churches and shoot nuns. And what do we hear from the moderates,....... nothing. I have respect for Islam, but why don't they take a more outward stance against the violence that is so obviously against Islam.
