Just for what it is worth, I pop mine the old fashioned way, on the stove top. What I use is the Whirley Pop and is the best popcorn popper going. It can be found on the web site listed below. I have also found it in some kitchen centers in the mall.
With the Whirley you can use the cheapest generic brand of corn and still get a good batch. Now having said that, I do often use Orville's, and I get a really superior popcorn. It is a breeze to make kettle corn, cinnamon corn, carmel corn, or any one of a number of other flavors with the Whirley. These kettles are well made and last very well. Recipe book included, but I have found that a batch of red hots in the blender to make at lease ¼ cup of cinnamon powder makes a great corn. Just add to hot oil, allow to reheat, add corn and pop. Yummy!!!

Popcorn is cheap as hell (unless you get packaged microwave stuff which is a rip-off, genetically mutated, and full of synthetics), so go all out and get primo organic popcorn at the health food store, then pop it yourself at home in a covered saucepan with some olive or coconut or sunflower oil, and/or butter.
A LITTLE (because it burns, and burnt flavors need to be subtle) oregano, garlic, yeast (I swear it's good for real!) black pepper and balsamic vinegar, with a fair amount of salt, in your oil will go a long way!
And if you have a gas burner, it will pop corn much faster than a microwave! Faster and better = hell with Orville!
