Learning how to control your body is a great gift.
Kungfu (and other physical activities) teach individuals how to use their bodies. Posture, balance, and confidence taught by Kungfu give the individual who learns this good bones, self-worth (of the body & mind), and funcional control of their whole bodies.
Breathing techniques teach the fundamentals to allow individuals to reach and surpass their physical abilities. Muscels built in the moves will build strong bones. The postions/ fighting stances teach ppl how to dance, show grace & control in their physical being, and attract others to confidence.
Warning. Some ppl learn martial arts/ fighting only to be bullies. A good martial artist will understand that the fighting is the last aspect of this life style; and that fighting should only be used with the intent of self-defense and the intent to kill in self-defense.

anyone can fight a physical fight and you will either win or lose depending on your state of mind. Like many Martial arts Kung fu also teaches the development of ones 'inner'strengths.Call it 'spiritual' development' if you want. Most people have lost a fight before they even begin because they 'begin to think' creating an inner struggle.Kung fu is a way of life for those who seek not to win so much the physical battle but more importantly the inner battle which may take much of ones lifetime to achieve

Suppose you were extremely skilled at fighting. That means in a fight you would win. What about against 2 men. What about against 10 men. Logic follows, no matter how strong you are, you cannot fight forever against overwhelming odds. You will get tired soon. it is a way life in that, it is for defense in situations deemed to be the only solution. Realize that, there are other fighting techniques meant to kill people.
Following the argument that it should be used for defense, you have to realize what you are defending...not just yourself. You are defending a way of life, defending those that cannot defend themselves. In short, you have to realize what is important in life and defending it everywhich way. You have to, as they say, find who you are. Martial art techniques on the bottom are meant to decapacitate the opponent. Without the right thinking, you are just a killing machine.

You live like a old asian man.
You squint your eyes to try look asian.
You talk in very odd way such as if someone ask you "how are you?" you would answer with something like "my chi is not running well"
You watch your friends slowly leaving you one by one simply because you're so weird that they seriously think something is wrong with you.
You try so hard to not laugh or smile.
There's many more weird things you can do. I don't want to type them all in. So I will simply tell you something, if a school claim you have to live and act in certain way then it's probably a cult school and you should avoid it.
Martial arts is a way of life, they all are basiclly the same which meaning try to avoid confront as much as possible, train hard, respect others around you, and the usual. It shouldn't be a religion or something you have to try hard to be. It should be something that you will learn naturally and come to you naturally without trying.

A large part of underatanding a martial art, is knowing when fighting can be avoided altogether. This is very important.
Think and speak first.. Fighting is self defence and a last resort.

I am Chinese, but I don't know Kungfu. Kungfu is not like tools, weapon, etc. Kungfu make your body stronger, but not for fighting.
