his previous name was"Cat Stevense"(I hope I've spelled that right)&he was Christian before,what do you think about him?why do you think he converted to"Islam"?he was a famous pop/rock star before.have you heard about his life?

He is a well known Muslim philanthropist and now sings Nasheeds or Islamic religious based songs with his same pleasant voice, but might not be to the taste of pop-rock fans. He's married and is an upright citizen,an active contributing member of his community. He's moved on like many of us have to more important parts of life. Hardly a waste!
Oh yes and in his famous times I think he was into drugs/alcohol and probably sought mental health help due to those common problems that follow popstars. I wish more of us would seek that kind of help when needed and not feel they would be stigmatized for it.

I'll bet you didn't know that Cat Stevens spent time in a mental institution. I say that because he's made threats against Salmon Rushdie in the past. He definitely has radical islamic ideas.

believe this or not..but i had a "fling"with him when he was cat stevens..his real name was steven adam georgio...his parents lived in london uk..and owned a restaurant in shaftsbury london...he was very famous then...and yes he went muslim and married ...i know that he was denied entry to the states last year....he even had his daughter with him too..i reckon he turned muslim as his wife was muslim..and muslim women cant marry cristian only marry muslim i reckon
