God-given freewill is the ability to choose without a cause forced upon you. So according to religion, if you choose to kill, there is no other cause except your own wickedness. However we cannot afford to be so naive. Ignorance is forced upon us by circumstances beyond our control, and ignorance is the cause of all wickedness, is it not?

You do not pursue ignorance simply because you do not have access to knowledge.

So you're saying if I grow up in a desert surrounded by religious extremists...it's my fault that I didn't read books or surf the Internet? How can you say we all have access to the same pool of knowledge?

If you choose to be ignorant is that not your freewill!? Ignorance can only forced upon you if you choose to let it be! Again we're back to the word CHOOSE which is you freewill. You can't blame anything else for what you choose to do. It's your choice!!! It all comes down to your own personal morals. Good or bad.

Your question, is the exact reason that I believe that a Higher Power does not have an opinion on what religion to belong to or what traditions to follow. We are all created equally,

God is Love....and intends to see us all use our free will to ensure that we have an understanding of ourselves and that we treat others as we would want to be treated. There is no excuse for ignorance....or is there? Circumstances cause some people to be in situations where their choices are limited, and forcefulness is a very effective way of limiting another's free will. The person limiting another's free will is using their knowledge or power to control another, and doing so, of their own free will. The person being limited by the other....is not always able to exercise their rightful free will. Ultimately people are the problem...not God.

I don't know if I answered your question.

Ignorance doesn't cause wickedness, knowledge does. Evil people use knowledge in the wrong way to draw in others who are ignorant of what is happening. This is why we should all question things and if something feels wrong, don't have anything to do with it. We only need one evil leader and a lot of people following blindly and we have a very bad situation. Another thing we should not ever have is apathy. Take an interest in your life and always stand firm for what you believe in.

I don't think ignorance causes wickedness. Some of the most kind people you will ever find are mentally retarded with I.Q.'s in the 40's. I don't think intelligence is the issue.

I think a person ignoring their own conscience or worrying more about the material aspects of life would be much more likely as the root of the problems you describe. We're so worried about getting to work on time, watching our favorite TV programs and entertaining ourselves that we forget to live a good life. We forget while we are watching a two hour movie that our neighbor has been sick and could use some help. We forget that one of our relatives has been feeling bad, so we don't call.

The majority of people have lost sync with the conscience and their generosity to the point that they no longer remember what it's like to live a good life with integrity in service to God and mankind.

Your question needs some tweeking to make it clearer.
Well I wouldn't say ignorance is the mane cause I would say fear and God takes away fear. Ignorance is very relative I am ignorant about weaving baskets and rockets but this dose not hinder me it kind of depends what you're realy talking about.

ignorance is a prerequisite for free will. if you had all knowlege, and had a natural inclination to good or evil, then you'd not really have a choice, and thus it wouldn't truly be good or evil, because its just the nature of your design.
if you didn't have an inclination, and you had all knowlege, the nall action would be good or evil, but you'd also be unable to function, as you'd see all the reactions and such of all actions.

ignorance isn't a cause of wickedness, as accidental wrongdoings aren't really wicked.

"lying" when you think you are telling the truth, but you are misinformed, is not truly lying. compared to intentional deception.

Sometimes we just have to make decisions based on whatever information we have available and just do the best we can. Sometimes, that doesn't turn out as pretty as we planned.

As for that whole God thing, it doesn't exist, so that case is moot.
