Premarital sex is a sin. For that matter having unclean thoughts about you neighbor or co-worker is also a sin. No one can live a perfect life in the eyes of God by their own efforts. There is a God who is there when we sin and continues to loves us anyway. Stop looking for man to answer questions only God has the answer to.

Yes premarital sex used to be a sin. And it still is today but over the years, people don't practice religion like they used to and therefore are not familiar with what is consider a sin.

Well, in some religions it is still considered to be a sin.

C. S Lewis said it best when he said that sex will "taint" a relationship between friends. That is what he said "taint".

But also consider, not too long ago girls were getting married at 12, 13, and 14 years of age. So people did not have to wait long to have sex. And after they were married they did it often. The woman was always pregnant. It was a hard life for the woman.

Used to be?? It still is, and always will be. Morality is not defined by what has become common in society. It is defined by the will of God, Who plainly said that no fornicator would enter the Kingdom. He isn't going to change His mind.

It is to prevent you from complicating your life. Many good things can be bad. Fire is good because we can heat our homes, but it can be bad if we are not careful. Sex is the same way. (see the ans. above mine) Don't make the mistake of thinking this is to make your life miserable. It is meant to protect you. All good things in time.
