Time does not flow in a steady stream - it moves in tiny jerks with gaps in between. (Read contemporary physics texts.) Who knows what happens in the no-Time gaps?

Free will and causality can exist together. Free will chooses the next parallel universe, while causality keeps each parallel universe integrated despite the gaps in Time.

you have an end you should be going towards (simply) because by doing that you fulfill your potential as a person, this is your causal end. your free will is your ability to decide what you will do in fulfilling your potential in life, and whether you never meet your potent, partially meet it or fulfill it is up to you, which is the beauty of choosing to be what you are, not just made that way.
