I posted a 'half a condom' analogy recently...

However, if you look into it, there are in fact urban areas where it is way too easy to hop a fence and jump into a car or lose yourself in a city. Those areas need fences. For other more open areas, sensors and drone aircraft may actually be enough because the border patrol can get there fast enough.

The main thing that has to change is the government's attitude towards enforcement, or nothing will work.

it's a start, and much of the border is patrolled and impassable that is left. It will also prevent anyone dying in the desert.

It's part of the solution not the whole solution. But an important step forward.

If it's so useless then why is Mexico protesting against it so bad right now in Mexico City?

I'm an economics major and completely believe in order..so obviously we need hispanic workers for economic reasons..ESPECIALLY with China entering the world market. Build a hugeeeeeee wall...two preferably...legalize everyone here already...make a worker program for foreigners south of the border...and very importantly...really strongly attack businesses that hire illegal immigrants...to the point of potentially shutting them down. With a worker program there won't be a need to hire illegals...with a huge wall there won't be any more illegals...as long as the hispanic workers follow the rules and go back when asked to they will build points and continue to be invited to come back. It's genious :)

They don't need a fence, they need to enforce existing laws. If employers were sanctioned, severly, for hiring illegals things would change drastically. As long as jobs are here and employers can hire illegals with impunity, things won't change. It'a public pacifying boondoggle.

they need a fence , with solders, and they need to enforce are laws. as long as these company's keep hiring them for CHEAP labor there going to keep coming. they need to fine the company's, and imprison them for 10 years. and they lose there business. that's what they need to do.
