I would like to thank Katie for her answer. She obviously has no idea of the context in which this question was asked. First off Katie I am a Vet.
Secondly why not join the Marines now as enlisted...afraid?

I obviously cannot answer for everyone, but I personally send care packages overseas.....whenever allowed and how often I possibly can through organizations like "Any Soldier" , "Soldiers Angels", and one I make up myself when permissible. I also go to websites like:http://www.americasupportsyou.mil and post email messages frequently...

I care about them. With both brothers in the military I think about it a lot. I hope they won't be sent to Iraq because I care for them but I try to support our troops whenever I can. I don't just mean I put the support sticker on the back of my car or put a flag up. I set up things for people to donate to the soldiers and work with Charity groups like Salvation Army to make sure the soldiers get the donated items. Currently I am trying to organize a care package wave at my church. With family in the army and several veterans in my family, the army is in my mind constantly. Some people may not care but I know many people where I am care.

I agree with answerer # 1. Additionally, I would not donate to a box that is just marked as a "Support the Troops" donation box. In this day and age a person cannot be too careful about who or what they donate to. If a donation recipient cannot be verified as a legitimate organization one could be simply donating to the recipients beer fund.
I do, however, support the troops. My son and/or husband could be deployed at any moment, in which case I would become the sole support for the rest of my family.

Donating doesn't always equal to caring. Honestly the troops are paid a wage by the government. Many people feel that is enough (whether true or otherwise). But seriously, it not money most of the troops over ther want. It's support.

No I don't because the pathetic, left wing fascist store and the people who buy from that store have no love for their country, period.

Where ever this store in located...what ever town this store conducts business and who ever the pathetic local(s) are who shop there they have 2 minor points in their favor...and that's pushing it. Point 1 being that at one time someone had the decency to (and the stored allowed) to provide a Support the Troops box in the town. Point 2, two people had the decency demonstrate their support.

You are correct regarding where you live...no ones cares and I imagine know one for 100 miles of this ill-bred, ill-educated and town lacking in any sense of honor.

It is a free country. Of course the pathetic people in your area lacking even a modicum of patriotism enjoy those freedoms as pathetic as that is.

And yes, am an army vet and I worked with the troops in Iraq for 18 months as a civilian. What a shame you are to busy chowing down your corn dogs, watching all that "reality" TV and trying to reach the next level of some mindless video game. Boy your family must be so proud.

An please...never ever consider military service or even consider supporting out troops. I can't imagine the embarrassment of serving any were near you and the troop have such massive support by real Americans that anything you would sent would be an insult.

We care. Just remember that the troops have been over there for several years now. Most of us donated back in the beginning. I still care, but unfortunately I'm a broke college student, so I have to show my support in other ways.

I just returned from Iraq this month. I have to say that I am proud of our nation in its efforts to show support through care packages. (Magazines, books, health care products, treats, some clothing i.e. socks). We were never in short supply of comfort items that helped make the year a little more pleasant.

One box in a store may not achieve any results based on location...advertisement...trust...etc. There are several organizations that are set up to provide care packages to the troops. If you want to participate, join or sponsor one of these groups.
The USO is just one of the supporting organizations:

I would just like to thank my fellow Americans for the support that they provided myself and my fellow soldiers while deployed to Iraq.

Like the others have said, one store doesnt matter..

You see like 10 people whining about their Xbox360 breaking... In reality its only like 10 out of millions...

I support the troops, but not the war... Go ask around your neighberhood.

I care. My cousin just got back from Iraq about a year ago. I think about the troops often.

What exactly do you want donated? I realize its a crappy job and your boss is a ignorant boy abusing his power, but the soldiers did sign up for the job. If i donate it will be to people who need it. people starving in places or dyng of aids. Quit whining, and do something for people who need it.
