I would say go to the dance with your friends, you should see if he is there, then ask him to dance.(or attract his attention in some other way) Don't worry about the first kiss part, it will just come when the time is right.

Go with the music, as it goes on dance with your man, smile on him when he gives you smile, hug him when he embraced you, and look at his eyes if he mean it then, open your mouth half and taste his tongue..close your eyes let him do whatever he wanna do.. that's it you'l know the how to kiss a french style..

Don't push it it will come soon enough,enjoy holding hands,dancing close. Relax and just enjoy being together with friends. If it happens it will be like kissing your kid brother.

pay an upper classmen hunk to ask your friend to the dance (or kidnap her for the night) and then get the guy you like to ask you, it's that simple!
as for the first kiss, just don't be drunk, and make it romantic with someone you like, it'll be a good memory

I wouldnt worry about it. You'll find out when the time is right.
As for the dance on the 19th, I wouldnt worry about that either.
By then, you probably wont like this guy.
