For some reason I think the three years stops mattering if the youngest person is 20. This would give my "rule" a a plus-or-minus of a year, maybe two, on the low-age end.
Here are some big differences: 13 and 16, 14 and 17, 15 and 18, 16 and 19; and, of course, 17 and 20. There's just too much growing that goes on between those ages.

Depends. If you are a minor under age 18, then that is a WAYYY big difference and alittle scary. If you are not a minor 18+, 3 year difference is nothing.

Age should not be a barrier to love just as long as you are both mature enough to have common sense (above the age of 16).
Him being 3 years older than you is of no concern at all.

I agree with the other posts, It depends on how old YOU are first.
Assuming you are of legal age, then it's fine. My husband is 15yrs older than me and we've known eachother for 7yrs now.
HOWEVER, 7yrs ago I was only 16 and therefore we didn't even start DATING until I was 19 so again, it always falls back on the girls age, or else problems with the law come in.
If you ARE still underage, ask your mom what SHE thinks... that should give you your answer. ;)

It depends on how old you are. If you're 13, three years is a big difference. If you're 25, it's not.

It depends on how old you are. If you are in high school or Jr. high I'd recommend not dating anyone a year older or younger than you.
