Why would you want a 5 year old in front of the computer!!!
Make the kid play with some toys, or take him/her to be with kids their age.
Apart from that, disney.com but always with a parent near the kid the whole time the kid is on the computer. You never know what could happen.

This is interesting because I was just about to ask this same question. My daughter is 8 and is wanting to get online like mom and dad. I went in search of kids websites last night. Here is what I found to begin with.
http://animalplanet.com
http://www.cartoonnetwork.com
http://www.coloring.com
http://www.paulysplayhouse.com
http://www.funbrain.com
http://www.kidsites.com
http://www.brainbashers.com
http://www.meddybemps.com
There are many others out there. These are a few that I introduced to my daughter just this morning. I bookmarked them for her on her very own windows profile on our computer. She can go to any of these sites and play games and do learning activities.

My son is 6 and he loves to play games on the Cartoon Network site and Nickelodeon site.
I also found another site that has a lot of games (learning, arcade, puzzles, coloring, etc.) for kids, plus it has dot-to-dot, mazes, color pages, cut and paste, word puzzles, color by number and other printable activity pages.
Posted below are the links to all three sites.

Let them go on every site they like, but don't let them look at porn sites. If you want games, why not games at home or outside?I don't think it's the best for a 5-7 years old to pass the time in front of the computer.

For starters, 5-7 year olds would be horribly upset to hear you calling them babies. A baby is classified as 2 and under. ;)
My pre-schooler is 4, and she likes the NickJr.com website. It has games online, as well as coloring pages and activites that can be printed off.

check with Disney.
If they have a favorite cartoon, you could always check to see if there is a website for it
also, google it! look for certain intestests the child likes.
