Looking for something different and unique. He just finished a year of chemotheraphy and really needs to get away. He is 18. His best friend 17 plus Mom & Dad can go on the trip too. We Want to stay close to home (Virginia). Looking at the Carribean, Fl Keys or maybe Mexico.

The best beach resort I've ever been to was Beaches on Turks & Caicos (Caribbean). What a place! All-inclusive! Best vacation ever! Check it out!
Or, Iberostar at Paraiso del Mar, Mexico.

I've been to South Beach, The Keys, Cocoa Beach, all up the West side of Florida too. SoCal the waters too cold - gotta be somewhere in Hawaii. Waikiki is just a beach to be seen on. North Shore is unswimmable in Winter - major surf.
Ka'anapali beach, Maui is the answer. Not seen anywhere to beat it. Going to Tahiti at Xmas (on the way back from hiking in NZ). But it actually doesn't sound like a major beach destination - that'd be more like Bora Bora.

Hello, I had a wish granted several years ago by the foundation. Unless rules have changed sinced that time, then international travel is not part of the package (I wanted to go to Europe). I eventually chose Hawaii, though, and had a great time.

Barbados is nice or Playa Del Carmen in Mexico (about an hour south of Cancun). I hope he enjoys it!
