Is there anyone that has gone through an abortion and would like to share? It would really help my paper. And i would leave your name anonymous.

I did when I was 17. I had been raped and was pressured by my mom to abort it. I'm still upset by it. I don't know if I made the "right" decession but there just doesn't seem like there were a whole lot of "right" answers than. I've had problems reproductively since... I've had miscarriages and finally I had a healthy little boy... I know a lot of people judge me but I also know that no one can judge me the way I judge myself... Hope this helps your paper... you can also email me just click on my profile.

I had an abortion back in the late 70's and I do not regret it at all. I believe that it is more wrong to bring a child into the world that you don't want and aren't willing to care for than it is to have an abortion. I have since raised 2 wonderful boys with help from a great husband.

I don't think that information you get from this site would hold as a good source. You can't tell whether the person is a woman even if the avatar is female.

I agree with the first person that people really aren't going to discuss it on this forum. As far as the second person is concerned, I have friends who had abortions and none of them regret it. They didn't like the experience and felt foolish; however, none of them regretted their decision.

I had an abortion probably almost 2 years ago now. It wasn't traumatic and I certainly don't regret it. There's a lot of nut jobs out there that hate women and want abortions to be illegal and will tell a lot of lies about the issue. I had mine done in a hospital (surgical) I was under anesthesia and asleep the whole time. Before going in I had to wait around in a obgyn clinic with a bunch of nurses who made terrible comments and fell into those lies that people tell about abotion. One was that they assumed my lover was forcing me to do it and said no woman would kill her baby without being forced to. Well, I dealt with it by ignoring it. I don't feel the need to argue or be hurt with the ignorant or the crazy. The actual procedure didn't hurt much. I had cramps much like menstrual cramps afterwards and went out for dinner but, the anesthetic made me sick so it became take out. Haha, my hormones went nuts for awhile and it took about 6 months for my body to return to normal. My lover stayed around. He felt a bit guilty since I had to experience it physically like that and he had it so easy and for awhile I resented him but, we talked about it and worked our way through it. I think it probably made our relationship that much stronger.

The reason for the decision was fianancial, physical (childbirth is not something I'm willing to go through), I was university and I was drinking, smoking cigarettes a lot and using certain uh, medication that would have caused physical and mental defects. I also hated it and didn't think bringing a defective child into the world who's mother hated it was the right thing to do.

Personally, I don't care if people hate what I did or think it's selfish. Opinions like that are worthless to me. I have rights to my body and some of those rights are to say no to things like pregnancy, the stealing of my organs or rape. Unwanted pregnancy feels worse than rape. It's from the inside out. It's your body betraying you and it won't be over so quickly.

When writing a paper on abortion, don't just focus on one thing. I've noticed that boys will focus on physical effects, where as girls forcus on emotional, and mental. try to make sure you add a bit of everything.

I had one about twenty years ago - it wasn't traumatic (except for the part where the clinic had been fire bombed and acid bombed recently and we were all terrified that a bunch of lunatics were going to kill us all) or painful - my husband and I both knew that it was 100% the right thing to do, and we still know that. I also have several friends who have had abortions and it wasn't really a big deal, except for the fear of the wackos outside the clinic. You might try checking out http://www.imnotsorry.net/ for some detailed stories.

I haven't had an abortion, but I don't think you are going to find many that will openly discuss it in a public forum because for many the subject is taboo.

I haven't personally gone through it but, I know plenty of people who have, and all I know is that they have all been through hell and back. Makes you feel like **** and like you are missing something, and if you were to think about it, you kinda in a way are.
