Try asking her! You don't want to blow the friendship, but friends should be able to talk about whatever! Who knows, maybe she feels the same way. :-)

That's a tough one, I know several people that regretted, dating a friend or best friend, if something were to happen and the relationship ended on bad terms, just think about how your 12 years of friendship, would end, that's alot of time invested, to throw away. It's obvious she enjoys being around you, you seem like a sweet guy. If i were you, i wouldn't pursue her, if it's meant to be, it'll happen. You have to ask yourself, does she look at you as a companion or like a brother. Take care.

you know i would have 2 say no...because you have sumefin real guud and 12 yrs is a lot to risk on not knowing. i have messed around with my best friend and even though i loved him, i was not in love with him. there is different kinds of love...but it would have to be mutual. what if she is not on the same page as you. i slept with my best friend out of pity...and i hate that i allowed our friendship to go where it should have never gone. even though i said i loved him...i should have been honest...but i didn't want to hurt him with rejection 4rm the only woman that really cared. i never knew that it would bite me in my asss when saying that you love sumboty could go against you. you see he was like my brother and that was the love i had for him...but he wanted more. he ended up falling in love with me. and i moved away. he later called me and told me that if he couldn't be with me , he was no longer going to be my friend. he told me that he couldn't bare me being with anyone elso...so he had no choice but to not be my friend. i finally told him the truth and we no longer talk...not because of my choice...but his. the sad thing is i still consider him my friend...and yes i still love him...regardless what he chose. this is only my opinion. so really look into it first. as a woman i've been mistaken for supposedly flirting just because i smile and downright nice. so be careful what you wish for. a lot of people are blindsided by loneliness. life is what you make it.

You want to know what I say? Well I have to ask you a question first why do you listen to these people it's not their decision it's yours and who knows most of them are probably freaks anyway so instead of asking random people on the internet ask someone you trust and you know they will probably have a better answer to your question than any of us will. So go and get off the computer!

Realize that it will change things. Expect a bit of a shake up in your relations... it will get worse before it gets better.
