My puppy has a tick in her ear and she moves around too much for me to get it and then it moves further down in her ear. What can I do to get it out?

you probably should take her to the vet. if you cant afford it, have someone hold her and put a hot match head on the tick (after you blow it out, of course) dont pull it out because you could leave the head behind and she can still get sick from it.

If you're not able to take it to the vet, the best thing to do is get hemostats or tweezers. It's really important that you pull the tick's head out when you remove its body. After removing the tick, place it in a cup or dish that has some type of grease to kill it.

This worked like a dream for us:

Get some tweezers. Run the tip through a flame (stove or match) a couple of times. Hold the puppy down tight. Take those tweezers grab that son of a b***h with the tip and it will FOR SURE come of with the greatest of ease.

Put dish soap on a cotton ball and hold it to the tick. It may take about 2 minutes or so, but when you remove the cotton ball, the tick should be attaced to the cotton ball.
