There is no pre-operative chemotherapy. Surgery should be scheduled as soon as possible. Cancer is invasive or more correctly it metastises or spreads and cancer of the colon is one of the more dangerous forms. Post-surgery, your physician will probably do either chemo or perhaps irradiation. In the meantime, a good diet and a good supply of vitamins and minerals will do much to offset some of the problems of both the surgery and the chemo. A positive attitude is very important.

Stage III cancer is relatively an advanced stage and it has to be operated immediately for removal of the tumor. There is no preoperative Chemotherapy and it will be given only after the removal of the tumor to avoid spreading of cancerous cells. It will be followed by Radiation treatment which will burn the left over cells. This is the only procedure to treat the disease.
What is colon cancer - read for details :
Colorectal cancer, (colon cancer or bowel cancer), includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. It is the third most common form of cancer and the second leading cause of death among cancers in the Western world. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from adenomatous polyps in the colon. These mushroom-like growths are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy. Therapy is usually through surgery, which in many cases is followed by chemotherapy.
