You can use "Defense Mechanisms."

The meaning of DM is the reduction of anxiety through the unconscious distortion of reality.

Search the web on the many different types of DM!!!=)

Anxiety?
Anxiety can make us 1) hyper or 2) stifle us.

1) When hyper, the homeopathic plant remedy Hypericum Perforatum may do wonders (I would take 2-4 pills in 1 oz. of water, a drop under the tongue every few minutes until the anxiety goes down, the less and less often, yet, at least 5 times a day may be for months). I find it interesting that for being hyper Hyper-icum is used! The ancient people who named the plants, knew probably more than we honor them for.

2) When stifled, the Bachflower Rescue Remedy has been excellent in past cases. (I would take 3-4 drops in water as above, taking it in frequence as above)

Dinshah Color MedicineTM
1) when hyper Purple
2) when stifled Scarlet,
3) otherwise and in addition to 1) ans 2) Magenta preferrably on the kidheys (small back).

Anything else that calms or invigorates could help:

Meditation, prayer, chamomile tea, soothing music, hiking in clean air under trees (ions, oxygen, aroma), alkaline-forming food, talking to a trusted person, Bio*Chakra Light MeditationTM which can help to dissolve the root of the anxiety, therapy, reciting calming poetry or the Psalms, singing, knowing that we are never left alone by our guardian angels. knowing that death (often the ultimate anxiety) is not the end of cosciousness.

Sometimes anxiety comes from a past life, which can be released with Bio*Chakra Light MeditationTM (http://www.biochakra.com).

Wishing you trust and happiness,
cordially, India.Magica

Kava is hard to find; Chamomile and valerian are good; there are lots of anti anxiety herbal mixes available. GABA and 5-HTP often help. Take a good high potency multivitamin-mineral pill daily, and take Stresstabs with C on bad times. Physical exercise is a great Rx for anxiety.

A product called rescue remedy it is fantastic and inexpensive. $12-$15 per bottle. I have purchased it for anxiety in teenagers and have had great result. It can be purchased at the health food store.

Go to your local health food store and ask for some direction. One OTC homeopathic concoction I like is an item called Calmes Forte (by Hyland's). I've also heard that St. John's Wort works with some people.

Exercise. Take a brisk walk. Your brain will produce more seratonin, which may alleviate the effects of anxiety.

i see you already have a suggestion for kavaroot, but what you get on the mainland is hardly what the real product is capable of the calm &relaxation, including a kind of goofy smile that can be achieved with the product that can be purchased online @konakava.com. it's comes in various froms, my prefference is the powder.

Kava, from the kava root, health food store, or GNC. Or try SAME ( sam-e ) found in drug stores, it is like a "natural" anti- depressant.
