I love those booksand the movies are awesome. My mom bought the books for my B-day and I finished them in 2 months. I couldn't put them down. What do you think about them?

I've seen the movies, I like the second one where buck is witnessing to Ray's friend some where in the begining of it. you know, if you have the DVD you should check out the way of the master episode that they have in the special features, its pretty good, you'll love it.

I thought that they were thought-provoking, entertaining mass fiction. They were easy to read and follow. Enjoyable light reading. They are properly labeled fiction. I don't know of any theologian, fundamentalist or otherwise, who would consider them a reasonable source of theological ideas.

I read the entire original series of 12 books, but have not seen the movies. I felt I had to read them because of their popularity and the questions being asked about them. They were fun, but they won't become literary classics by any stretch of the imagination.

It was interesting to read novels based on the Bible, even though they involved a wild imagination. The books caused people to ask questions about God, the Bible, and the fate of the world. So that's good.

If you enjoy light Christian fiction, I highly recommend these three books.

In His Steps by Charles Sheldon (a modern version is available and more easy to relate to.)

The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis (one of my favorites. Written as a series of letters from a mid-level demon to a field demon. Lots of interesting insights into temptaton and sin.)

Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan (it's published in modern English now. Considered the greatest allegory ever written in the English language. It is filled with Scriptural references throughout the book.)

I agree with you as for the books being very good. They are very enjoyable reading. The only problem I have is that people don't realize that the books are FICTIONAL stories. They are just as fictional as The Davinci code or even Titanic. Just because they are based on something true, that doesn't make them fact.

Ah, yeah, I liked those books. Didn't think much of the movies. As usual, the books were better.
Pure fiction, by the way.

Do you mean the teen series or the adult series? I tried reading the adult series several years ago. I found them to be poorly written and repetitive. I think if the authors had been better writers and not so interested in making a buck, they could have cut the series in half and still addressed all the issues they wanted to address.

The problem with the series is that the author's understanding of Bible prophecy is seriously defective. This results in his spreading more error than knowledge. It also leads to needlessly obsess about and fear the future. In doing so, he leads people away from the true Christian faith.

I haven't personally read them but my whole family LOVES them! I have recently lended the books out to friends and they seem to be enjoying them too. I did see part of the movie, it scared me and I couldn't really follow it, but I came in on the middle of it so I don't know what was going on. I like the idea of building a series on the Revolations background though. I will have to read them soon. Enjoy!!:D

I haven't read the books, but have seen the movies, and there right on time. If you get time read the book," Are we living in end times" by the same authors it is on time and shows the end time prophecies that have already come true, and what is left to happen. God bless.

Fiction, not a Biblical perspective.

2Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar. Fire will destroy everything in them. God will judge the earth and everything in it. 11 So everything will be destroyed. And what kind of people should you be? You should lead holy and godly lives.
