God told Adam and Eve that if they ate from The Tree of Knowledge that they would die the very day they ate it (Genesis 2:16, 17).

The serpent only told Eve the truth when he said that eating from the tree would not kill her but would actually open her eyes to the knowledge of good and evil. She and Adam ate the fruit and did indeed become aware of the difference between good and evil, but they did not die (Genesis 3:1-7).

So, God lied and committed the original sin.

Which means, in the end Jesus had to die to cover up his fathers original sin, right?

Wrong, check again, It does not say that very day only that they would die. and they did die before they ate from the tree they were going to live for ever. After eating from the tree their days were numbered. God told the truth the serpent lied. very much similar to the deceit in your question/statement. Jesus had to cover up your sin.

God told Adam and Eve that they "would surly die" not die that day. And in time they did die. The serpent told them they would open their eyes to good and evil and that was also true. He became the father of lies during the Cain and Able event.

no. if the garden of eden was meant as a paradise for humankind, humans were intended to have an eternal life in it. but as a result of disobeying God's command not to eat the fruit, mortality entered the picture. according to my Bible, 2:15-17 says "you will surely die", not you will die the very day you eat it. the serpent lied because he said "surely you will not die!" hope this helps!

Oh ? Didn`t they die? If they didn`t where are they? God made man, not to die ever, If they would have listened to him, but because they didn`t listen, now they Die, we all do, it is apointed once for ma to DIE, after that the judgement, Adam and Eve did die, God didn`t say they would die right away, but they died , God sent his son, so that man would be able to live forever again, not in this world but in the world to come.

the serpent didnt tell eve the truth ,the serpent TEMPTED eve and temptation is an innate quality of all mortals,e.g. the fragrance of some flora near the observer, drawing the observer ever nearer and conscience only of gratifying the senses, and losing some capability to reason. hence , part of one is lost (like dying). jesus reclaimed these attributes at his fathers command.

No. God is infallible. What had to have happened is Adam and Eve heard wrong with their imperfect ears and thought God said the thing about dying. Or, they just forgot what he did say and wrote down whatever came to mind when they penned the bible.

Wrong--God does not sin. When He first made Adam and Eve He created them immortal-not required to work the land or grow their food for all was there for them. By Disobeying God they were punished by having to take care of themselves on the earth and to die as God told them. He said they would die and they did. But because God did not wish for us to die and then cease to exist He became man and died on the cross forgiving us our sins so we would again be immortal. Jesus Christ(God)died on the cross to open Heaven for us-------originally the Garden of Eden was our Home to be bur Adam and Eve lost it for them and for us. Understand now. In order to grow in knowledge and understanding read the bible and it s good to question for shows you take your faith seriously but question to get knowledge and not to disclaim God

No, he didn't lie. He just didn't say what kind of death they would experience.

The serpent being an earthly being, has a definition of death that is a mortal definition. God however, could of meant spiritually.. after all, Jesus said the Devil is capable of destroying both body and soul.

So they could've died in spirit, at the cost of pleasing the flesh.
