Worry is negative imagination. First an imagined scenario is created, then the mind stays focused on one pointless & unreal but disturbing possibility after another.

Everyone experiences worry. If it is something more than that , no one on the internet can prescribe psychoactive meds - you would have to see a psychiatrist.

Even so, mood-altering drugs do nothing for the underlying dynamic of what's really going on - they just make one feel a little better for a little while. Drug wears off - back to same old - same old.

What to do? Common problem - worry is one of the most common afflictions of human life. It starts with letting the mind stray into the imagined future to exist. As long as the mind is focused in the NOW, the present moment, there is no way for worry to disturb the mind.

Practice focusing on the NOW, the present moment using any meditative technique you like but practice every day to have a lasting benefit. (I do mostly breath meditation but you can use lots of objects)

As you start to try to control where the mind goes you will start to see what it is doing - perhaps for the first time. You will also start to notice how when the mind drifts to the future & worry starts to arise that you get tension in the body - muscles start to get tight, your stomach feels jumpy, etc.etc. If you start to live in the present moment, there is a space in which you can also start to unwind the tension of the body, relax the belly, breath deeply, drop the shoulders, etc, etc.

I've sent some links that ought to give you some ideas.

Good Luck!

;-)

Everyone does. It is how humans evolved. Humans that did not constantly review the mistakes they made in the past and consider the possible problems that might come up eventually died off. Or rather, those that did review their mistakes and worry about the future managed to stay alive. Useful then, but not really that much help in our modern times. Do a little reading on Zen - which is the an attempt to live only for the moment. Not the total answer to life - since we all must do some planning for the future - but if you can realize that it is your evolved human brain torturing you, perhaps you can simply refuse to be a slave to it and spend a few moments focus on your immediate present - enjoy it - then try it again later for a few minutes longer - until you have learned to enjoy an appropriate amount of time. There is plenty of time to worry about the future later.

Actually it is called paranoia. It is probably nothing, but if scares you, see a counselor. You do not say how old you are, but if you are in school, you can ask your school counselor to help you get to speak to a school psychologist. If you are an adult, look for state or county run mental health services in your phone book.
Your family doctor can also put you on the right track to low cost or free help. Good luck!

It could be Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Some people with OCD have obsessions about hurting people. For instance, when they drive every little bump they may wonder if they hit someone and have to stop and pull over and look.

Stop caring about anything at all. It won't work, but you'll stop caring about stuff you shouldn't care about and still care about good stuff.
