Me and a few friends did a research study for school on different nationalities and races. What we found was quite interesting. The project lasted a little over a month with over 2500 case studies documented in over 25 resteraunts.
In our study we found that African Americans tend tip less or not at all. For every black American that was studied, we found that out of every 100 blacks, 3 will tip, the tips ranged from 4% of the bill to 10%. If their waiter or waitress was African american the tip tended to be in the range of 7.5% and 10%. If their waiter or waitress was Caucasion or another race, the tips if any, ranged from 1% to 4% of the bill.
Caucasions tended to tip more regardless of their waiter or waitresses race, with an avg tip ranging from 28% to 42% of the bill. Out of every 100 Caucasions studied, a little over 83% of those tip their waiter or waitress.
Point of this study you ask? There isn't a point, it's just food for thought.
